How to create a Project

Skylight offers you to create project from many locations. the main ones would be from your dashboard "Projects" widget or from the main navigation on the left of the screen. All these option will give you the Project Add from as show by the screen shot below.

To create a new project fill in Title and description fields, select or create a new client and a client contact. And if know Add dates of when project starts and ends.

Ref (Blank for auto): These are auto populated from your numbering preferences in your Company Settings.

Client Ref: These can be Client PO ref number or similar.

Status: You can select from provided statuses or custom ones selected in your company settings.
Add Tags: Use tags to create custom segments, assign project types, add your specific criteria for how you want to group projects. Please have a read of Tags and Tag Groups.

Attach Files: Add any files that related to the project here these will show up on Files tab on the project as well as on project overview section.

More Options: In this section you have access to custom fields for the project as well as adding specific details like project specific numbers, emails, urls, ftp and social media links. To view this section and add information please select "More Options" link.

Any details added here will show up on Project sider bar on the right of screen

WHAT NEXT: Depending on what your needs are after creating a Project you can create Milestones, Stages, Tasks, Assign Participants, Schedule Resources and People, generate Invoices and Quotes, Log time and bill for it; Any combination of these options are available to you based on your needs.
