Creating a new task
You can create a new task from virtually everywhere in Skylight. From dashboard tasks widget, or when in side a project or when on a contacts as well as from the main navigation menu.
When adding task from your dashboard or from main navigation
menu by selection Add Task or
button, you will get a new popup window
as shown below the add task from:

Here you can add various options related to a task i.e task title, description, due date and priority as well as the following fields:
Assigned User: This is the person who will be responsible for performing this task. Also note that the task will only show on the My Tasks dashboard widget and My Tasks tab, If the user has been assigned the task in this fiels. This filed is auto populated with your name if you select Add Task from your dashboard My Task widget or from My Tasks list view Tab.

You can use tags to group your tasks. So CRM task could have a tag group"CRM" and then tags as "Call back, Followup, Newsletter..." So that you can filter your tasks later on. as well as be able to see what task grouping is while organising your tasks.
Attach Files: You can attach files to the task
here these can be files hat are already uploaded to Skylight or you
cna upload a new file directly here as well. To add files simpley
type the nam eof hte exisiting file or select the pallet option
next to the input field 
Project Relationship: If this task is about any project then this section should be filled. You can select which Project this task related to and then which Stage, Milestone, Task-list within that project.
Resource Relationship: For pure CRM prepossess some tasks would need to relate to Contacts, not that these contacts will be performing this task that the job for Assigned user(explained above). Resource relationship also defines tasks that needs to be done for a resource this could also be a equipment needing fix, of a location sale or rent due.
